Atilla Karaca who took over the Directorate of the Civil Defense Organization in July, and Civil Defense Coordinator Alkın Gedikoğlu, tested the TRNC’s domestic car GÜNSEL and made inspections at the production facilities. After the test drive in the driving area on the Near East University campus, Atilla Karaca and Alkın Gedikoğlu, who visited the GÜNSEL Production Facility, received detailed information about the technical features of GÜNSEL’s first model B9 and the ongoing mass production preparations.

Head of the Civil Defense Organization Atilla Karaca and his entourage also visited the Cyprus Museum of Modern Arts, Cyprus Car Museum and Herbarium and Natural History Museum located on the Near East University campus, after their visit to GÜNSEL.

Making statements after his test drive with the GÜNSEL B9, Civil Defense Organization President Atilla Karaca described the performance of the GÜNSEL B9 as “exciting” and said, “It is very proud that a vehicle with performance, comfort and state-of-the-art technology is being produced in Northern Cyprus.” Stating that he used an electric vehicle for the first time, Karaca said, “The GÜNSEL B9 is very enjoyable to drive. However, the real pleasure is to witness the realization of such a big project in the TRNC.

Emphasizing that GÜNSEL, of which mass production works continue at full speed, will represent the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus on the roads of the world, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Near East Enterprises Prof. Dr. İrfan Suat Günsel said, “The fact that the representatives of the important institutions of our country visiting GÜNSEL, making their moral support and standing by us increase our excitement and motivation for GÜNSEL, which is the pride project of our TRNC.” Prof. Dr. İrfan Suat Günsel thanked Atilla Karaca, Director of the Civil Defense Organization, for his visit to GÜNSEL.
