Former President of the Grand National Assembly of Turkey, Prof. Dr. Mustafa Şentop, continues his contacts in the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus. As part of his contacts, Prof. Dr. Şentop visited TRNC’s local, national and 100 percent electric car GÜNSEL, with his accompanying delegation and took a test drive and received information about the mass production efforts.

Accompanied by the President of the TRNC National Assembly Zorlu Töre, Prof. Dr. Mustafa Şentop visitied GÜNSEL Production Facilities, where welcomed by Near East Enterprises Board of Trustees and GÜNSEL Chairman of the Board of Directors Prof. Dr. İrfan Suat Günsel and Near East University Rector Prof. Dr. Tamer Şanlıdağ.

During the visit, Prof. also Dr. Mustafa Şentop had a test drive with GÜNSEL’s first model, B9. During the test drive, Şentop was accompanied by İrfan Suat Günsel. After the test drive, Prof. Dr. Şentop made inspections at GÜNSEL Production Facilities. Prof. Dr. Mustafa Şentop also received information about the development process, technical specifications and mass production facilities of the TRNC’s domestic car.

After vitisiting GÜNSEL, the delegation walked to Dr. Suat Günsel Mosque which is on the Near East Campus and performed Friday Prayer.

Making a statement after the examinations he carried out in GÜNSEL, the former Speaker of the Grand National Assembly of Turkey, Prof. Dr. Mustafa Şentop said that he had information about GÜNSEL during his previous visits to the TRNC. “I had the chance to see GÜNSEL in my previous visits. During this visit, we also had the opportunity to examine GÜNSEL facilities and take a test drive of the vehicle.” Reminding that Turkey has taken decisive steps in this field under the leadership of President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, Prof. Dr. Şentop said, “It is a great pleasure that these studies, which represent not only the technology of today but also the technology of the future, are being carried out in the TRNC. I was very pleased to see the work done here. I congratulate you.” Prof. Dr. Şentop once again congratulated those who contributed, saying that he tested the acceleration and dynamism of GÜNSEL B9 during the test drive and liked it very much.
